2.  What is a SASE?

A SASE is a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

3.  Will you find an obituary for my relative who died in 1980? (example of a typical question)

We need to know the exact or approximate date of death in order to find an obituary. Our obituary collection includes our local newspaper, Fargo Forum, obituaries from 1891 to the present date.

4.  Do you have birth, marriage, and death certificates in your library?

Our collection doesn't include these certificates. You will have to purchase these copies from the vital records department in the state in which the event occurred.

5.  How do you search the documents on this website or in the member section?

     a.  If the document contains a magnifyer glass in the header, click on it and it should bring up a

searchable box where you can enter the text you wish to search by.  The less is better.

     b.  If no magnifyer glass is available, almost all documents can be searched by Holding down the

"CONTROL (ctrl)" key and then pressing the F key.

     c.  When the search box opens, type in the surname, county or other word text your wish to search by.

     d.  Press the "ENTER" key and if found, the searchable text should be highlighted.

     e.  Use the "TAB" key to move to the next highlighted text if available until no other text is found.
